Migration

To experience the time and distance that was involved in the 19th and early 20th century transatlantic migration of ideas and products – a recurring subject in my academic research – I crossed the Atlantic on the freight vessel HS Livingstone. The crew suspected I was an undercover superintendent, the sort of misunderstanding I love to propagate.

Obviously this investigation into changing spatial and temporal perceptions was also a thinly veiled excuse to read books and stare out at the ocean.
